McNeill Designs Game Review and Giveaways Ends-1/1

In our home we love games! Card games, video games, and board games! Thats why I am happy to introduce you to McNeill Designs. They offer great games that appeal to everyone of all ages! I was lucky enough to be able to review a couple of their very fun and unique games!

 I received You've Been Sentenced and Twisted Fish! Both are excellent games.

You've Been Sentenced is one of the funnest games I have played in a long time. Everyone gets dealt 10 cards face down that have random words on them. Each word has a different point value. You make words out of your cards and if the the sentence makes sense then you get the points. If someone objects to your word then you have to explain your sentence and other players take a vote.You can play with 3-10 players from ages 8 and up. There are several other methods of play that are also really fun.

Whether you are 8 or 88 this games is hysterical! It has won several awards including the 2007 Spewgie best family game! We played it on Thanksgiving night after a few adult beverages so you can imagine the sentences that were created! This game can be an adult game or a family fun game!

Twisted Fish is another amazing game! A creative spin an Go fish! You must be specific when asking other players for cards.The cards are extremely unique. Zingers are cards that allow you to break the rules making the game very exciting! It challenges you to remember every question the is asked! A great game for everyone!

New Car...Maybe?

Kain and I have been a one vehicle family for as long as I can remember. It generally works out well, but sometimes it can been a real pain! He usually comes home covered in mud and muck from work which causes the car to get dirty. He really needs a truck for work and it is pretty hard transporting a 155 lb dog in backseat of an Alero.

I would love to get a new car! We have been going back in forth with for a while. We just paid our car off so currently we have no car payment, and that is wonderful! We always do our research before making any big purchases.

There are several  options, other than going to a dealership, when it comes to buying a car. Craigslist, e-bay and other online forums are some great alternatives. They are even websites that will help you with your Car Transport whether you are buying a new car or moving and need your vehicle shipped. New car or not, I am thankful for the car I do have!

Buying a Home

Kain and I have lived together the majority of our relationship. We have always rented, lately we have really been considering buying our first home. Now that we are married we think that is time for us to have our own home. We feel as if we are just throwing our money aways renting when we could be paying a mortgage. Renting really stinks when you want to paint...I have being dying to redo our bathroom, but then I starting to think why would invest my money into a house that isn't even mine?

The housing market in our town is unbelievable, they are practically giving homes away here! We have been looking online at the houses for sale in our area and I have found a couple that I fell in love with. In fact we are even pondering buying my mother-in-law's home in the spring. It really is a great house with tons of space. One of the major qualities I am looking for in a house is a big yard. Our 2 dogs need a yard to play in and we need one where we can relax! The price she is asking is fantastic!

I found while researching that there are tons of home loans! First time home buyer, a rural area loan, and even a VA Loan! The options are endless! I have been day dreaming of all the different home DIY projects we could do together. Any advice on buying a home is greatly appreciated!

As you may know my husband, Kain, is a green house manager, he recently wrote an article on Poinsettia's. It was so educational and since this is Poinsettia season I asked him if I could share it with all of you. So here it is...

Poinsettias (Euphorbia pulcherrima) remain one of the most popular holiday flowers. The poinsettia is native to southern Mexico, however it is likely that at least one poinsettia can be found in nearly every household and business during the December holiday season. Hybridizers have expanded the range of colors from the familiar red to pastel yellow and vibrant bi-colors. This year Nature's Green will carry Red, Pink, White, Marble, and Glitter. Sizes will vary from 2" wicked mini's, 6", 8", and 10" poinsettia's. Nature Green has top quality poinsettia’s plant selection is of up most importance when purchasing a poinsettia. Select plants with large, brightly colored bracts (showy petal-like leaves) that are not wilted, broken, or damaged. Look for healthy leaves at the base of the plant. The true flowers are the yellowish button-like structures in the center of the bracts. Avoid plants where the true flowers are shedding pollen or falling off. Bracts normally do not last for long periods after the true flowers fade. However with proper care, Bracts should remain attractive indoors through the holiday season and often until Valentine’s Day.

Inspect poinsettias for insect pests. These uninvited guests tend to stick around long after the holidays. Carefully wrap plants before taking them outdoors. Brief exposure to cold temperatures can cause the leaves and bracts to drop. When poinsettias reach their final destination, unwrap plants carefully and place them in a sunny location away from cold drafts or heat sources. Temperatures between 60 and 70 degree F are best. Check the soil daily to determine whether the plant needs water. When the soil is dry to the touch, water the plant thoroughly. Water should flow freely out the bottom of the pot. Discard the excess water because plant root systems can be damaged by sitting for long periods in saucers full of water.


Most people discard their poinsettia’s after the holidays. However, it is possible to keep the plant and get it to bloom again next season. This process may seem rather overwhelming at first, but it is rather easy and very rewarding. For more information on Spring, Summer, and Fall Care and reblooming, stop in for the seminar on Dec. 3 where you can also pick out a live tree and greens.
